Literary Club

Reading, writing and the confidence to speak

What this club is for

Purpose

To build fluent, confident readers and writers in English and Hindi, and to give every child regular practice in speaking before an audience.

What it aims to develop

  1. Reading habits

A steady daily reading habit, supported by the school's Special Focus on Reading Habits from May onwards.

  2. Clear handwriting

Legible handwriting and well-organised written work, carried into every subject, not only English and Hindi.

  3. Elocution and debate

Regular practice in elocution, declamation and debate, so that argument and expression become second nature.

  4. Public speaking

The comfort to speak in front of the class, the assembly and the school without fear.
