Robotics Club

Building things that move

What this club is for

Purpose

To join hands and head — designing, assembling and programming simple machines so that the science of the classroom becomes something a child can hold.

This club describes what St. Thomas intends to offer. Please ask the school office whether it is currently running for your child's class.

What it aims to develop

  1. Design, build, improve

The cycle of designing, building, testing and improving a working model.

  2. Mechanisms and sensors

An introduction to simple mechanisms and sensors and how they work together.

  3. Teamwork on a build

A shared build that only comes together through teamwork.

  4. Learning from failure

Treating a failed attempt as information, not a reason to stop.
